Director Suzanne Husting

I told my dad, when I was 12, that I wanted to be an actress, but when I was 15, I saw my first stage production, "The Glass Menagerie." THAT is when I fell in love with theater.

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in theater on the university level when I was a young teenager, thanks to the drama program at the all-male college in my hometown. I acted, helped build sets, ironed costumes and worked as a production assistant. In my college years, as a drama major, I had an internship with a repertory company in New York City, and was offered a summer residency at the prestigious Williamstown Theatre summer program. That was the same summer I chose to get married, so....

Long story short, in the summer of 1992, my husband and I moved to the Cartersville area and became acquainted with Carole Roach, who immediately drafted us for the chorus of "South Pacific." And I've been continuously involved in community theater since then.

I love to direct because I love to see people try new things and in discovering their character, uncover their capabilities. I'm excited at the prospect of live theater opening up in Acworth!
